1. About These Terms
These terms and conditions govern your use of the Stairlifts Cost website (https://stairliftscost.co.uk) and the stairlift supply, installation, servicing, and repair services we provide. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Free Home Survey
We offer a free, no-obligation home survey to assess your staircase and recommend a suitable stairlift. During the survey, we will provide a fixed-price written quote. You are under no obligation to proceed, and we will not make follow-up sales calls unless you have asked us to.
3. Quotations and Pricing
- All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
- Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
- Prices include the home survey, supply of the stairlift, installation, a safety demonstration, and a 12-month parts and labour warranty, unless otherwise specified in the quote.
- Any additional work not included in the original quote will be discussed and agreed with you before proceeding.
4. Orders and Payment
- An order is confirmed when you accept our written quotation and we agree an installation date.
- For new straight and reconditioned stairlifts, a deposit may be required at the time of ordering. The balance is due on the day of installation.
- For curved stairlifts, a deposit is required to commence manufacture of the custom rail. The balance is due on completion of installation.
- We accept payment by cash, credit card, debit card, and bank transfer. Finance is available through Kanda Finance Service, subject to status and approval.
5. Installation
- Installation will be carried out by our factory-trained engineers at the agreed date and time.
- You must ensure that the staircase area is accessible and clear of obstructions on the day of installation.
- Installation of a straight stairlift typically takes 2 to 4 hours. Curved stairlift installations may take longer.
- The stairlift rail is fixed to the stair treads, not to the wall. Minor cosmetic changes to your staircase may occur as a result of the installation.
- On completion, our engineer will demonstrate the stairlift to you and ensure you are confident using it safely.
6. Warranty
- All new and reconditioned stairlifts are supplied with a 12-month parts and labour warranty from the date of installation.
- Extended warranty options (up to 5 years) are available for curved stairlift models.
- The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
- The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, unauthorised modifications, power surges, or accidental damage.
- Warranty repairs will be carried out at no charge during the warranty period. We aim to attend warranty call-outs within 2 to 3 hours for emergency situations.
7. Servicing and Repairs
- We offer ongoing servicing and repair services for stairlifts we have installed, as well as stairlifts installed by other companies.
- Service and repair charges will be quoted before work commences.
- Emergency repair services are available 7 days a week. Response times depend on location and availability but we aim to attend within 2 to 3 hours for local call-outs.
8. Stairlift Rental
- Rental agreements are flexible and can be terminated with reasonable notice as specified in your rental agreement.
- Rental prices include all servicing and maintenance for the duration of the rental period.
- We will install and remove the stairlift at no additional charge.
- The stairlift remains the property of Stairlifts Cost throughout the rental period.
9. Cancellation and Refunds
- You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of placing it, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
- If installation has already been completed within the 14-day cancellation period at your request, you may be liable for the cost of installation and removal.
- For custom-built curved stairlift rails, cancellation after manufacture has commenced may result in a charge to cover the cost of the bespoke rail.
- Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned product or confirmation of cancellation.
10. Liability
- We carry appropriate public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
- We are responsible for loss or damage caused by our negligence or breach of these terms, but we are not liable for losses that are not foreseeable at the time of your order.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Reconditioned Stairlifts
- Reconditioned stairlifts are fully refurbished and safety-tested at our Denton workshop before installation.
- They carry the same 12-month parts and labour warranty as new stairlifts.
- Availability of reconditioned models is subject to stock.
